Day 78 - January 30th

So the Conrods came back a day early from Molongo, because one of the Baka women, Tendi, who was basically 9 months pregnant, was hurting.
They weren't sure if she might be just hurting because they (her included) went dam fishing yesterday, and it was possible she was sore, because dam fishing is hard work! (Dam fishing is where they go to a stream, and make a series of dams, and then scoop out the water and grab fish out of the water and mud that is left. Apparently she was bailing water with great gusto.)
Anyway, once Nathan and Laurel arrived back here, Nathan drove the truck back to the road to fetch Tendi and a couple others.
About 2 hours later, her husband went running for Jenn (the nurse). When Jenn arrived at the house, it was baby time! She barely had time to run for gloves!
Tendi and baby are doing well!
What an adventure - I'm glad they came back, or they would have delivered the baby in the forest, in a leaf hut! (Which I'm sure their ancestors did for hundreds of years, but I'm sure they like having a trained nurse around these days...)
